Parks Bay, Stuart Island, to Friday Harbor, San Juan Island to Parks Bay again, July 6
Yes…Parks Bay is a favorite.
We woke pretty early and headed to Friday Harbor for shopping. Chris had been unable to get the flame diffusers for the two-burner propane stove, so we really needed to locate a new stove. The one we had was from Harbor Freight, but there were no Harbor Freight stores in Friday Harbor. We were hopeful we could get a new one at West Marine or Kings Market that wasn’t too expensive. We needed Butane for the one pot stove since we had used way more than planned and Chris had decided he wanted a fishing license. He was going to augment our canned foods with fresh fish. We also needed a hose to replace the one that blew out the last time we were at Friday Harbor.

We were successful on almost all accounts. Couldn’t find a proper propane stove. Chris walked out of Kings Market with a boatload of fishing gear guaranteed to get some fish. The license alone was $80.
We dumped the trash, added water and did a little more purging and headed again to Parks Bay.
We choose a slightly different anchorage than the night before and settled in for dinner and a lovely evening in the quiet of the bay.
